珠穆朗瑪峰國家級自然保護區是世界最高峰。由于喜馬拉雅構造運動形成了以高喜馬拉雅山脈和藏南分水嶺為骨架，以高原湖盆、寬谷為基底，并含有河流、湖泊、冰川、冰緣、風沙等多種地貌類型的及其復雜的現代地表形態。喜馬拉雅山脈的地貌形態在珠峰自然保護區內最具特色，它自西向東橫貫珠穆朗瑪峰國家自然保護區南緣。位于保護區的喜馬拉雅山脈，是整個山脈的最高部分，該山脈11座8000米以上的高 峰中就有5座分布于保護區；世界第一高峰—珠穆朗瑪（埃佛勒斯，8848米），世界第四高峰—洛子（8516米），世界第五高峰—馬卡魯（8463米）， 世界第六高峰—卓奧友（8201米），世界第十四高峰—希夏邦馬（8012米）；故該段山脈亦稱高喜馬拉雅。
Qomolangma Nature Reserve is located in the Tibet Autonomous Region of Tingri, Nyalam, Geelong and the four county, in 1988 by the Tibet Autonomous Region People's Government approved the establishment, was promoted to national in 1994. The main objects of protection for mountain, Plateau ecosystem.
